Governing bodies · 2025–2028

The archiepiscopal decree confirms the governing bodies for the term from 28 October 2025 to 28 October 2028. Their presidents are:

General Assembly — Eduardo Vaz Martins de Almeida.
Administrative Board — Luís Carlos Lopes da Fonseca.
Supervisory Board — Carlos Alberto da Silva Menezes.

Remembering officers and benefactors

António Augusto Nogueira da Silva holds a special place in this history. He served as President of the Brotherhood from 1958 to 1976 (over 18 years) and was a major benefactor, supporting the completion of the towers, the restoration of the church and the renewal of its pastoral life. Many others have contributed their time, work and resources to the institution. Alexandra Pereira de Castro’s 2025 publication brings together records of 4,279 members and introduces the lives of officers, chaplains and rectors.

António Augusto Nogueira da Silva — supported the completion of the towers and the building works of 1958–1966.
José Gonçalves Guimarães, Visconde de Guilhofrei — supported the conservation of the church and sacristy.
Barão da Gramosa — associated with charitable bequests and repairs to the church clock.

Honorary members

Honorary members include Archbishop José Cordeiro of Braga and Fr Paulo Terroso, rector of the Basilica. They are examples of the bonds of service and communion that shape the life of the Brotherhood.
