BASÍLICA DOS CONGREGADOS · BRAGA
Culture and conversation
Concerts, talks and gatherings where faith, art and city life meet.

A Basilica to listen to
Music has a special place in the life of the Congregados. The Basilica hosts concerts that bring its heritage to life, introduce different forms of artistic expression and offer a new experience of this space.
Its programme has included Música de Câmara Braga and Festival Semibreve. The historic organ is also part of this relationship between music, liturgy and heritage, recognised through the Basilica’s inclusion in the “Órgãos a Norte” cultural route.
Conversations about the city, faith and culture
The cultural life of the Congregados also includes discussions, book launches and gatherings. These are opportunities to meet people, share questions and connect the city’s memory with the concerns of the present.
A tribute to the benefactor António Augusto Nogueira da Silva, as part of the Memórias de Braga series, and the launch of publications about the Brotherhood are among the events held at the Congregados.
Understanding what we care for
Guided visits offer an introduction to the history of the Oratorians, devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows and the Basilica’s artistic heritage. Each visit helps us understand what we have inherited and our responsibility to pass it on.
