International Catholic Community

You are welcome here

Whether you live in Braga, have recently moved here or are visiting, you are welcome to join us for Sunday Mass. Our English-speaking Catholic community brings together people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds.

• Sunday Mass: 5:30 pm.
• Location: Basílica dos Congregados, Avenida Central, 98, 4710-229 Braga, Portugal.

Meet the community

Hospitality Sunday takes place after Mass on the fourth Sunday of each month. It is an opportunity to meet others, share conversation and get to know the community.

There are also opportunities to help with readings, music, altar serving and welcoming people to Mass. Please speak to us if you would like to take part.

Grow in faith together

Our first lector training takes place on Sunday, 8 November 2026, at 3:00 pm in the Basilica. Coming along is an opportunity to learn; it does not commit you to becoming a lector.

A year-long Bible study is planned to begin in January 2027. Participants will follow The Bible in a Year podcast individually and meet once a month to share, reflect and support one another. Contact us to express your interest and receive the meeting details.

Stay in touch

Ask us about the community’s WhatsApp group to receive announcements and hear about upcoming activities.

For enquiries, pastoral support or information about confession in English, email congregados@arquidiocese-braga.pt or call +351 253 262 482.

Support the Basilica

Your donation helps sustain the life of the Basilica and care for its historic building. You can give through the Brotherhood’s MyDona donation page. Thank you for helping us care for this place and its community.
